About Warrior Gathering

Background

What started as a program to provide comfort items and a night out on the town for wounded service members and their families has quickly evolved into a focused effort to assist warriors in their recovery.

Mission

The purpose of our annual Warrior Gatherings are to help injured service members and their families by providing an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and relieve the stresses of post-injury life.Our mission is to foster a successful, well-adjusted generation of service members by providing a stress-free environment to connect with peers who were also wounded in the line of duty. Warrior Gathering 2015 will provide a much needed respite from the injuries of the body, mind and stresses of hospital life by providing;

• A relaxing environment for quality family time,

• Peer group support sessions to adjust to a “new normal”, and

• Group activities (i.e. Fly fishing, golf tournaments, spa treatment, etc.)

• A venue for spouses and family members to connect and learn from each other

Our Commitment

Central to WBB’s culture is a strong sense of duty to give back to those who have sacrificed their health and wellbeing in service to the nation over the last decade of warfare. The nature of the conflict, coupled with modern combat, has resulted in unprecedented numbers of young service men and women returning home with serious injuries to both mind and body. WBB actively supports organizations and initiatives dedicated to improving wellness and quality of life for heroes and their families.

This year, the Warrior Gathering proceeds will benefit Boulder Crest Retreat, a local, veteran-owned establishment dedicated to improving the lives of wounded veterans and their families.

About Boulder Crest Retreat

Boulder Crest Retreat is a veteran-owned establishment that provides a supportive and healing environment for warriors and their families to enjoy time together away from the clinical settings and prepare for their future with a renewed sense of hope and newfound level of resilience and strength. Founded in November of 2011, Boulder Crest survives off of charitable donations and volunteers who generously support the operations and physical maintenance of the property.

Throughout the evening we will host a silent auction featuring weekend getaways, sports tickets, fine-dining restaurant vouchers and much more. Tickets include:

Two drink tickets for wine or beer
Hors d'oeuvres
Live piano and singing by WBB employee spouse and Program Manager for the Veterans Health Administration, Jeremy Collins, who is a singer, songwriter, and music instructor.

All proceeds will go toward amenities and housing for wounded veterans and their families at Boulder Crest Retreat in Bluemont, VA, providing them a much needed respite from the stresses of post-injury life.
